Dry Needling

What is Dry Needling?
Trigger Point Dry Needling is a technique used by physical therapist to treat muscular tension and spasm which commonly accompanies conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, nerve irritation, muscular strains, ligament sprains, and herniated discs. It is highly effective for chronic muscle pain and repetitive sports injuries as well.

It is called “Dry” Needling because there is no solution injected into the area. The needle itself and the effects it produces within the tissue is the treatment.

Physical therapists goal is to restore normal muscle and joint function. The Dry Needling technique is used in conjunction with a comprehensive evaluation that complements other treatment techniques to decrease pain and restore function.
