Sohaila Mosaddegh, DPT, CEO

Doctor of Physical Therapy, Chief Executive Officer

Sohalia Mosaddegh is a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) and CEO of Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center. Dr. Mosaddegh earned a bachelor of science in physical therapy from Howard University. She received her doctoral degree from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Her research focus was on the effectiveness of physical therapy diagnoses of lumbar disease versus MRI. Dr. Mosaddegh has worked in the orthopedic and sports medicine field for more than 20 years.

Dr. Mosaddegh and her practices offer patients the most advanced physical therapy for optimizing movement, function, and health. She is guided by integrity, life-long learning, and a commitment to her patients’ health. Dr. Mosaddegh is dedicated to using evidence-based physical therapy throughout the continuum of care to improve quality of life.

Dr. Mosaddegh says: “I have the privilege to work with everyone from middle school and high school athletes, professional tennis players, and weekend athletes, as well as older adults and injured workers. I chose the physical therapy field because it combines the human body with exercise and movement.”

During her spare time, Dr. Mosaddegh enjoys gardening, playing tennis and doing activities with her two teenagers.

Sasan N. Chalezamini, COO/CFO

Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer

In 2011, Mr.Sasan Chalezamini accepted the position of Marketing Manager and joined the PT&SMC team with long experience in investment banking and real estate consulting. With over two decades of managing three locations of mortgage banking, processing & underwriting, he brought to PT&SMC a new version of management with innovative marketing ideas and quickly became the Chief Operating Officer of the company.

Soon after, he expanded Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Center patient care from one location to four thriving locations in Prince Georges and Montgomery county. His managing experience and skills and unlimited vision have made a notable difference in PT&SMC. Mr. Chalezamini’s ultimate goal is to make PT&SMC the best out-patient physical therapy center in the DMV, while creating worthwhile employment opportunities for the community. “Working with PTSMC, I have the privilege of seeing patients receive the care and attention they need from a practice of physical therapists and staff who truly care about their patients, where patients feel like it’s their home away from home. “

During his spare time, Mr. Chalezamini enjoys travelling, jogging, fishing, hunting, tennis, kickboxing, racquetball, working out, entertaining, as well as family activities and barbeques.

Yana Carr

General Operations Manager

Ms. Yana Carr studied Information Technology and has over 10 years’ experience in investment banking and administration. As a part of the senior management team at PTSMC, she works closely with the COO/CFO to assist him in executing the company’s operational goals. Ms. Carr is also responsible for provider credentialing and company HR and payroll processing.

Yana’s dedication to the business and a positive patient-experience, as well as her determination to have PTSMC remain the most successful out-patient facility in the area without sacrificing a professional staff, is what drives Ms. Carr and her team to keep taking PTSMC to the next level.

Ms. Carr believes in leading by example and creating a work environment that encourages team-building and professional work ethic.

Yana loves a good laugh and enjoys family time, travelling, cooking and dancing.

T. Gordon Cort, DPT

Doctor of Physical Therapy, Office Manager

T. Gordon Cort is a graduate of Howard University and a doctoral candidate of the University of St. Augustine. Since graduating in 1990, he has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of orthopedic physical therapy and has treated many patients with a variety of diagnoses. PTSMC is pleased to have him join our team as the Office Manager of our Greenbelt location.

One of the sub-specialties in which he has been trained and finds tremendous pleasure, is in the treatment of patients with chronic pain. He was trained and certified by Myopain Seminars, the premier authority on myofascial trigger point pain. Through the use of Dry Needling, he has brought relief to a number of patients who had been suffering in silence with chronic pain.

Another sub-specialty in which he was trained is in the treatment of injured workers. He skillfully uses chronic pain techniques to resolve worker compensation cases, return the injured worker to his/her pre-injury state while significantly decreasing the number of days off of work.

He finds relaxation in spending time with family, including his two grandchildren Isaiah and Kennedy, friends and a large church family.

Billy Nebel

Bowie Office Manager

Billy Nebel, Bowie office  Manager, joined PTSMC in March 2014. She is also the receptionist of the Bowie location.

Mrs. Nebel has over 20 years of experience in the medical field and in efficiently handling the daily runnings of a PT office.

“I have worked for PTSMC for over a year now and I am enjoying my time with the company. I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of PTSMC.”

Billy is originally from Texas and is married to Ronald. They have 2 children. Billy enjoys spending her free time with her family. She also enjoys reading and gardening.

Leo Lara

Marketing Director

Leo Lara is a seasoned marketing, sales, and new business development professional with 15 years of experience. For five years he has led his own small business, partnering with small healthcare organizations to increase their client base and expand their business brand.

As the Marketing Director at PTSMC since 2013, Mr. Lara’s concentration has been on building business to business and physician relationships while focusing on community awareness.

Mr. Lara has also been actively involved with sports facilities focused on the health and well-being of children. He has had great success in leading health fairs and fitness projects including multiple health providers.
Mr. Lara is an avid sports fan and a big movie buff.

Karen Vega

Front Desk Manager

Karen Vega joined the PTSMC team as front desk coordinator in August 2017. With over 8 years of experience in the medical field, Karen was quickly able to use her computer skills, dependability, attention to detail, and the value for customer service to recently land her a new position as Front Desk Manager for all Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Center locations.

When asked about working here at PTSMC, Karen explains that it has given her the opportunity to meet many great professionals, that she, now, is proud to call her work family. Karen loves what she does and being a part of a growing practice that gives back to the community is extremely important.

With a smile she says,” Apart from physical therapy, laughter is the next best medicine. Life life to the fullest.” When she is not at the office, Karen enjoys spending time with her son and family/friends.

Kristal Pinachos

Front Desk Assistant Manager

Kristal Pinachos, has been working for PTSMC for 2 years. A graduate from MedTech College, Kristal brings to the company over 15 years of medical office experience. Ms. Pinachos started out as a member of our front-desk team. Her organizational skills, professionalism, pleasant demeanor and time-management skills made her an excellent candidate for the Assistant Front Desk Manager position.

“I enjoy working for PTSMC with my morning coffee. I love the environment I work in and the office is always filled with laughter.”

Kristal enjoys dancing, watching football, and listening to music. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family. Kristal loves going to beaches and camps with her children and occasionally going out with friends

Nina Snowden

PT Aide Manager

Nina Snowden graduated Salisbury University with BS Exercise Science. Employed with PTSMC for over 5 years, Nina started out as a PT aide and is now the manager of the company’s aide department. Being a youth basketball coach herself, as the lead PT Tech at PTSMC, Nina works to instill three core principles in her techs – commitment, selflessness, and unity. She focuses on allowing our aides to get the most out of the learning experience while developing professional skills and fundamentals.

In her spare time, Nina enjoys playing basketball and watching football.

Devonne McCullough

Billing Manager

Von McCullough joined the PTSMC with over 25 years of experience in healthcare administration.

Graduating in 1994 from Hunter College NYC with an Associate degree in healthcare administration/technology, Von later went on to becoming a Healthcare Administration Instructor with the Chubb Institute NYC where he spent 4 years teaching and training others for healthcare employment.

As PTSMC’s billing supervisor, Von is extremely diligent and, since 2017, leads our patient collections team, taking pride in helping patients understand specific rules and regulations relating to their healthcare.

For relaxation, Von enjoys travelling, quality time with his family, playing music, and smiling as much as possible!
