PT&SMC’s First Annual Potluck Picnic
Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Center’s First Annual Employee Potluck Picnic was held on Saturday 13th September 2014. Olney Mill Park in Montgomery County Maryland served as the perfect scenic backdrop for the day complete with family, food, friends and fun – even if it did rain all day. We took that as an opportunity for everyone to get better acquainted on a little more than surface level.
The Potluck’s Best Dish Contest stole the show. Out of a total of twenty or so dishes from all over the world, our carefully-selected judges were eager with fork-in-hand to taste each delicacy to determine a winner. The results were as follows:
First Place( $100.00) – Blueberry Delight made by Nina S.
Second Place ($75.00) – Spaghetti Salad made by Carol G.
Third Place ($50.00) – West Indian Macaroni Pie made by Yana C.
Congrats to all of you! (Our tummies thank you as well!)
Special thanks to Jamshid Photography for capturing the spirit of the day and the delicious foods that were brought by all. PTSMC Management appreciates everyone who came out and showed support. See you next year!

PT&SMC’s 2013 Office Holiday Party
The holidays are a time of year that pretty much everyone looks forward to. The get-togethers, spending time eating and drinking with friends and family, gifts (sometimes). Even at the office, this time of year is exciting, and it was no different for the PT&SMC staff.
On Saturday December 14th 2013, PT&SMC held our first annual holiday party event at the Greenbelt Marriott Hotel. The hotel provided the food and drinks and we were all quite impressed with the food and service. Everything from the steak to the fish to the cocktails and desserts were deliciously on point.
Members of staff came decked off in their finest evening wear, accompanied by close family and friends.
After everyone had digested their food, Sasan Chalezamini, C.O.O and the MC for the night, announced that it was time for the PT&SMC Dance Off Competition. Originally, each location (Greenbelt, Riverdale, Olney and Bowie) was supposed to form groups and come up with a dance routine. We had too many shy bunnies in the group so the teams were condensed to Greenbelt vs Olney. It was on now!
First up was Greenbelt. Yana, Naudia and Helen performed to an upbeat Caribbean song with tassa drums leading the melody. The mini-skit at the end tied in physical therapy to the theme. Not too sure how many people realized because when one of the dancers “pulled a muscle”, there was alot of buzz about “Did you see her fall? I hope she’s alright.” Haha! It was entertaining to say the least and they left the stage with a resounding applause (and Sasan joining in dance).
Next up was Olney. Looking at them getting ready in the lobby was a bit intimidating. They had full get-ups with sunglasses, bandannas, the Michael Jackson glove and whips and chains……we weren’t too sure what we were getting ready to see. However, this team, led by Dr. Sohaila, was completely underestimated. Dr. Sohaila, Leo, and Ashley got down! They had props, and performed a medley of songs, accompanied by some dance moves that left many of us jaw-dropped. The Footloose throwback at the end of the performance got the entire crown engaged and on the dance floor. At the end of it all, both teams were awarded the cash prize and used it to purchase toys for the Toys for Tots Foundation.
Thanks to Jamshid Photography, we are able to share some fun moments from this festive night with you. Hope you enjoy!
